Corewell Health East(CHE)inSoutheastMichigan announces an exceptional opportunity for a nationally recognized physician leader to serve as the Regional Division Chief, Vascular Surgery, oversevencampus facilitiesinthe Detroit market.

TheCHE Regional Division Chiefwill serve as an influential and highly visible leader and will execute the divisional strategy, vision, and clinical operations to promoteCorewellHealth East as a premier institution and destination for heart and vascular care. The Regional Division Chief will lead a talented team ofvascularsurgeons, wound and vein specialists to furtheridentifyopportunities to improve quality, grow specialty services, and advance organizational initiatives including safety, inclusion, and accountability. The Regional Division Chief will work closely with service line leaders in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgeryto ensure coordinated planning and support for all related services and patient care initiatives. The Regional Division Chief will fostercollaborationand partner with programs and centers both regionally, across the state and nationally to extend existing clinical excellence, research, and education in vascular surgery. Of note, the Division Chief will workon pan-Michigan approaches to vascular care with leadersat Corewell Health West, in GrandRapids,MI.

TheCorewell Health East Heart & Vascular service line offers a quaternary portfolio of programs and servicesrangingfrom prevention tohighly complexcardiovascularsurgery witha strong foundationbuilton quality,serviceand excellence. Corewell Health East's Heart & Vascular service line consistsofsevenhospitalswith vascular surgery as a hub-and-spoke model with,William Beamont UniversityHospital, Royal Oak,being the quaternary hubforcardiology, cardiacsurgeryand vascular surgery, including a mature aortic center. TheHeart & Vascular service lineworkforceiscomprisedofover a 1,300 dedicated and highly skilled medical professionals and staff:over200 cardiologists,9cardiac surgeons,20 vascular surgeons,5board certified vascular medicine cardiologists,and a dedicated wound/HBO surgeon.Theregionalfacility footprint includes William Beaumont University Hospital(1,100beds),Dearborn(632beds)and Troy (530beds),withsmaller regional campuses at Trenton, Wayne, Grosse Pointe,FarmingtonHillsand Taylor.A total oftwelveoperating roomswithdedicatedvascularsurgeryblock timeare availableacrossthe region,includinganadditionalfivehybrid operating rooms,28catheterization/electrophysiologylabs,and multiple hyperbaric,woundcenter, and vascular lablocations.

Currently, theDivisionof Vascular Surgery, Vein and LimbCareincludes6employed and13independent vascular surgeons.In 2025, our vascular surgeonsperformedapproximately3,500 vascular surgeriesandreadnearly 40,000vascularimaging studies.Inaddition, oursixemployed surgeonscompletedalmost 7,000 clinic visitslast year.

CorewellHealthEast Heart & Vascularincludesrobust,activeand productive researchwithnumerousongoing clinical trials andinvestigator-initiatedstudies. The research program has made pioneering advances in many fields including cardiac imaging, coronary intervention, electrophysiology,valve,and vascular disease.TheCorewellHealth Research Institute has a facility at WBUH with a robotic center of excellence and animal lab (vivarium) capabilities.WBUHis affiliated with Oakland University William Beaumont School ofMedicine, Michigan State University College of OsteopathicMedicineand Wayne State UniversitySchoolof Medicine. There are over 900 residents and fellows in 94 programs includingfellowships in Vascular Surgery(2 Fellows)and Cardiology (37fellowsacross 3 campuses).

The successful candidate will be a nationally recognized vascular surgeon and physician leader with an outstandingtrack recordof program development, provider recruitment, and advancing quality and service initiatives to achieve the highest quality patient care.

Prior physician leadership experience in vascular surgery isrequiredfor this role.Furthermore,the candidate must havesignificant experiencein advancedendovascularsurgery and complex aortic work.

TheCHE Division Chief of Vascular Surgery will serve as a senior thought leader, accountablefor the overall strategic positioning and successofvascularsurgery atCHE.The successful candidate will have responsibility for theongoingdevelopment, integration,and optimization ofCHE'svascular surgeryprograms across the enterprise. This leaderwill have responsibility for programmatic growth, addition of new niche quaternary service(vein clinic strategy and limb preservation program)expanding market share,maximizing value,andincreasing patient satisfaction, quality care delivery,standardization, clinician well-being, and financial performance acrossCHE.Theleaderwill develop a roadmap for researchplatform growth andexpansionoftheACGMEVascularFellowship program.They will align with the system-wideclinical service linestrategy and withCorewellHealth'soverarching organizational strategy to ensure theprogramreflectsitsmission anditsdeep commitment to outstanding patient-centeredcare.

The candidate will have excellent communication skills, be comfortable workingwithhospital andmedicalgroup practice leadershipandemployed and independent vascularsurgeons,andexhibita trusted, compellingdemeanorwith a deep sense of professionalism.

This leaderwill have a keen business acumen, have high emotional intelligence, and be a consensus-oriented individualwho displays "respectful courage," and is influential in their ability to encourage people forward. Anamply developedcollaborative style is essential.

Board certification, the ability to obtain an unrestricted Michigan medical license andmaintaina robust clinical practice in vascular surgery isrequired. The Division Chief will report to thePhysician ExecutiveofHeart & Vascularserviceline. The successful candidate is eligible foran academicappointmentwith OaklandUniversity William BeaumontSchool of Medicine.
