Job Title: Warehouse / Mailroom Supervisor

Pay

Base Rate $25.00/HR + $5.09 H&W

Job Summary:

Support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's training mission at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Charleston, South Carolina. As DAWSON's Warehouse / Mailroom Supervisor, you will support the Supply/Warehouse Manager in overseeing all warehouse, shipping and receiving, mailroom, and logistics operations. You will directly supervise personnel and manage daily operations at the Shipping and Receiving Warehouse, Warehouse 61, and the FLETC Post Office. Your role will ensure efficient inventory control, mail distribution, material handling, and logistical support services that are critical to student support operations and overall mission readiness.

Responsibilities:



  • Support the Supply/Warehouse Manager in overseeing all warehouse, mailroom, and logistics operations to ensure compliance with contract requirements and performance standards.
  • Supervise all personnel assigned to the Shipping and Receiving Warehouse, Warehouse 61, and the FLETC Post Office.
  • Assign daily tasks, establish work schedules, and ensure adequate staffing levels to support operational requirements.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide guidance, and ensure adherence to company policies, safety requirements, and contract standards.
  • Oversee receiving operations, including inspection, logging, and verification of incoming shipments and materials.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of discrepancies, damages, or missing items.
  • Oversee shipping operations, including packaging, labeling, and coordination with USPS and commercial carriers.
  • Ensure proper handling, sorting, and distribution of all incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
  • Oversee operation of the FLETC Post Office, ensuring compliance with required hours of operation and security procedures.
  • Maintain accountability and tracking of certified mail, packages, and delivery records.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, including storage, issuing, restocking, and tracking of supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to maintain operational readiness.
  • Lead and support execution of move orders, including coordination, staging, transportation, and setup of furniture, equipment, and materials.
  • Coordinate internal deliveries and transportation of materials between warehouses, dormitories, classrooms, and administrative areas.
  • Oversee material handling operations, including safe use of equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and vehicles.
  • Ensure all personnel follow proper safety procedures, including PPE usage and material handling protocols.
  • Conduct routine inspections of warehouse spaces, mailroom, equipment, and vehicles to ensure safety, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Ensure proper handling, accountability, and control of government-furnished property, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs for inventory, shipping/receiving, mail operations, and deliveries.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, including inventory reports, operational logs, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with dormitory management, transportation, maintenance, and administrative personnel to support student services operations.
  • Respond to operational issues, delays, and personnel concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with training, onboarding, and development of warehouse and mailroom personnel.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping, including timely entry of hours in timecard and Costpoint systems.
  • Monitor employee timekeeping to ensure accuracy and compliance with company and contract requirements.
  • Provide backup coverage as needed for the Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Specialist, Warehouse Laborer, and Post Office Courier roles.

Qualifications:



  • Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, shipping/receiving, or mailroom operations.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory or lead role overseeing personnel.
  • Knowledge of inventory control systems, shipping/receiving processes, and mail handling procedures.
  • Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate logistics operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems for tracking, reporting, and communication.


Additional Requirements:

Must be eligible for DHS background investigation and suitability clearance.

Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident with work authorization.

This position may require the operation of Company-provided vehicles.



  • If operating Company-provided vehicles, maintaining a valid driver's license in good standing is a condition of employment.
  • If operating Company-provided vehicles, employee must comply with all Company vehicle use and safety policies, as well as all applicable traffic laws.
  • If operating Company-provided vehicles, the Company may review your motor vehicle record (MVR), as permitted by law, to verify eligibility to operate Company vehicles.
  • If operating Company-provided vehicles, you must immediately notify the Company if your driver's license is suspended, revoked, restricted, expires, or if your driving privileges otherwise change.
