Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a
FIGS Coordinator for the Office of Career Exploration and Success. The
FIGS Coordinator will support the administration of the First-Year Interest Group Seminars (
FIGS), one-credit seminars for first-year students that are developed and taught by Rutgers juniors and seniors. In Fall 2026,
FIGS will enroll more than 2,000+ first-year students in 80+ sections of the
FIGS course. Peer Instructors develop a ten-week course that allows first-year students to explore an academic interest/career area, discover the wide array of resources available at Rutgers, and connect with students, faculty and staff connected to their course subject. The positions will report to one of the Assistant Directors for First-Year Career Engagement and the Associate Director of First-Year Career Engagement.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Completes departmental and team trainings.
- Represents FIGS and CES at New Student Orientation (NSO) and family programming.
- Approves final FIGS course lesson plans and syllabi and meets with Peer Instructors as needed by conducting weekly office hours.
- Supports and facilitates a 3-day student leadership training (August 24 - 26, 2026).
- Supervises a cohort of FIGS Peer Instructors as they teach their courses, in both the fall and the spring semesters.
- Provides administrative oversight for sections of FIGS (e.g., attendance record-keeping, grading, logistics, etc.).
- Conducts class observations.
- Presents Career Exploration and Success content in FIGS class presentations.
- Supports the recruitment and interview process for Fall 2027 Peer Instructors.
- Supervises a cohort of Senior Peer Instructors in the spring.
- Supports the administration of the 3-credit Peer Instructor Education (PI Ed) course.
- Conducts weekly office hours for PIs during the PI Education course.
- Completes individual projects to support the FIGS program.
- Supports CES Career Fairs and major events.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
