Description

Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director, the Clinical Nurse Manager independently coordinates all outpatient services for the Department of Neurology. The Nurse Manager's responsibilities include direct supervision of all clinical staff at the Westwood campus: RNs, LVNs, and medical assistants(located at all sites), including coordinating work schedules, taking disciplinary actions when needed and completing annual performance evaluations. This role includes active participation in budget planning and management, decision-making about medical and surgical equipment acquisition (and assist with maintaining service contracts), and maintenance of complete and accurate charge documents and charge capture, and provide oversight within EMR(EPIC/CareConnect) while identifying areas of improvement.

The Clinical Nurse Manager takes a lead role in performance improvement activities and patient satisfaction initiatives. You will also ensure quality patient care is provided in accordance with UCLA Policies and procedures,JCAHO, Title 22, OSHA, and DHS standards. The Clinical Nurse Manager runs weekly and monthly reporting on clinic staffing, productivity metrics, budget adherence, patient volumes, and report weekly to the Clinical Director. The position also develops and maintains all SOPs/competencies for all the clinical staff in the Department of Neurology.

Salary Range: $128500 - $298100/Annually

Qualifications Required:
  • BSN or MSN.
  • Current California RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
  • A minimum of 5 years nursing experience, including experience in an ambulatory setting. Neurology preferred.
  • Ability to complete a nursing physical assessment.
  • Skill in developing a plan of care including setting goals, monitoring and documenting progress.
  • Ability to implement interventions that are pertinent to goals established in the plan of care.
  • Ability to evaluate effective interventions toward the attainment of established goals and to recognize the need to reassess or reset goal parameters.
  • Ability to delegate tasks in a management style that is consistent with promoting leadership and teamwork.
  • Knowledge base to provide education to
    patients, families, and other staff regarding clinical and patient care issues.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of patient care, regulatory
    requirements, and management.
  • Ability to lead a team and make sound
    judgments related to patient care and personnel.
  • Ability to counsel and
    teach; Competent in speaking English clearly.
  • Basic knowledge of
    regulatory requirements and performance improvement.
Preferred:
  • Experience in health system EMR (EPIC/CareConnect).
