Additional Information

The focus of the Wolfe Laboratory is the development of genome editing tools, such as base editors and prime editors, to employ as new classes of therapeutics. The successful candidate would be a part of an interdisciplinary team of laboratory scientists, clinicians, and computational biologists that are working on therapeutics for a variety of neurological and neuromuscular disorders, as well as cancer. We are looking for a candidate that would be a key player in developing and characterizing novel genome editing systems that could serve as new therapeutics - with these reagents potentially being used in clinical trials.

Experience Required:

  1. Basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, plasmid purification).
  2. Mammalian Cell culture experience.

Experience Desired (not required):

  1. Genome editing
  2. Illumina Sequencing library preparation
  3. Experience using mouse disease models

Major Responsibilities (in addition to the standard set):

  1. Participate in the development and characterization of genome editing systems tailored to correct gene mutations common in certain patient populations or kill cancer cells.
  2. Participate in the application of these genome editing systems in relevant mouse disease models.
