YOUR OPPORTUNITY


We have an exciting Human Resources Generalist opportunity in our Merriam, KS office. In this role, you will administer and execute human resource programs, oversee employment-related inquiries, and participate in employee relations matters and investigations. Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, manage HR records, and support employee engagement activities. Assist with executing the annual operating plan for the HR department.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including benefits; leave of absence; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; training and development; and employee recognition.


  • Oversee employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.


  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.


  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.


  • Maintain knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and regulatory/employment law changes.


  • Review, track, and document compliance training.


  • Manage KC HR filing, documenting, HRIS system entry, and overall personnel record maintenance.


  • Organize new hire onboarding, orientation, and offboarding meetings.


  • Draft and update HR communications such as emails, PowerPoint presentations, Screencloud, iZone, etc.


  • Oversee tuition reimbursements for all Seaboard Foods employees.


  • Manage the HR Outlook inbox and physical inbox and direct accordingly.


  • Support employees with basic employment and benefit-related questions.


  • Assist in coordinating and communicating employee engagement activities and off-site meetings.


  • Other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS


Required



  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.


  • At least two years of human resource management experience is preferred.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.


  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.


  • Must be able to multi-task, have attention to detail, and be highly organized to complete projects in a timely and accurate manner with minimal mistakes.


  • Proficient in PC skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.


Preferred



  • SHRM-CP certification.


  • UKG human resource management software knowledge and experience.


  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS.



SCHEDULE



  • This position will be on-site Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

  • Primarily an office environment with some need to work in the operational locations.


  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
