Structural Engineer II

Job Title: Structural Engineer II
Location: Merritt Island, FL
Job Type: Contract
Hours: 40/week
Pay Rate: $49.68 - $53/hour

We are looking for a contract Engineer to support the rapid design and fielding of temporary structures. You will work closely with stakeholders to define requirements and iterate on designs quickly.

Responsibilities include:
* Engage stakeholders to gather and clarify structural and functional requirements
* Translate requirements into vendor-ready design packages suitable for fabrication and construction
* Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, safety standards, and site conditions
* Coordinate with vendors during fabrication to resolve RFIs and design clarifications
* Incorporate engineering changes and design revisions in a fast-moving environment
* Maintain revision-controlled drawing sets and document key design decisions
* Support design reviews and resolve technical questions in the field

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
* 3+ years of structural, civil, or mechanical engineering experience
* Experience producing fabrication-ready design packages for external vendors
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment with evolving requirements
* Proficiency in relevant CAD or design tools

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with temporary or modular structures, including tent structures
* Familiarity with anchorage, foundation, and environmental load considerations for temporary installations
