Summary

The EVS Operations Manager supports the Director of Environmental Services by providing leadership and direction to the Environmental Services Department. The EVS Operations Manager ensures that all managers and supervisors have the knowledge, skill and competency to oversee their assigned areas of responsibilities. The EVS Operations Manager will also collaboratively and respectfully educate, mentor and support his/her management team in providing leadership in the completion of department responsibilities, including supporting the allocation of staff, equipment and supply resources to fulfill the department's cleaning responsibilities. The EVS Operations Manager will have knowledge of all technical aspects of the hospital's cleaning procedures, project work and specialty cleaning. In addition, the EVS Operations Manager is responsible for building relationships with nursing leadership and other supported departments, utilizing these relationships to communicate with and listen to the customers' needs and ensuring that the management team carries out and properly documents department quality assurance activities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Two-year degree or five years of leadership experience in a related field. Four-year degree preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: See "Education." Experience in managing multiple services preferred. Experience supervising managers and working with a staff of 30+.
  4. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with subordinates and a variety of hospital personnel.
  5. Leadership skills.
  6. Interpersonal skills necessary to build effective relationships with peers and customers.
  7. Analytical skills necessary to effectively contribute to hospital and department decisions.
  8. Ability to prepare reports by utilizing hospital and department computerized software programs.
