Job Summary

The Business Operations Lead is responsible for driving operational excellence across digital platform business lines, supporting both business-to-business (B2B) and direct-to-consumer (DTC) services. This role partners closely with Finance, Product, Engineering, Legal, Procurement, Accounting, Tax, and Commercial teams to build scalable processes, strengthen financial controls, optimize vendor and partner operations, and support business growth. The ideal candidate combines strong operational leadership, financial acumen, and cross-functional collaboration skills within digital platform, streaming, media, or technology environments.

Job Responsibilities



  • Lead operational governance across multiple platform business lines, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial plans.
  • Serve as a cross-functional liaison between Product, Technology, Finance, Tax, Legal, Procurement, Accounting, and external rights organizations.
  • Translate business strategies and commercial agreements into scalable operational processes and execution plans.
  • Operationalize budgets, forecasts, and financial plans into daily business execution.
  • Lead monthly revenue and expense reviews, including variance analysis, forecasting adjustments, and risk identification.
  • Ensure alignment between approved budgets, actual spending, revenue performance, and operational activities.
  • Develop and manage vendor strategies, Statements of Work (SOWs), and vendor engagement processes.
  • Coordinate vendor approvals across Finance, Technology, Legal, and Procurement teams.
  • Drive vendor optimization, cost efficiency, and spend governance initiatives.
  • Oversee operational management of commercial agreements and strategic partner relationships.
  • Track contractual obligations, reporting requirements, and payment activities associated with partner agreements.
  • Coordinate internal approval workflows for new partnerships, agreements, and business initiatives.
  • Translate commercial agreements into operational workflows integrated with forecasting, reporting, and business processes.
  • Review and validate revenue, transaction, and performance reporting before distribution to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver periodic operational and financial reports to internal stakeholders.
  • Manage partner inquiries related to reporting, payments, and operational performance.
  • Identify operational risks and implement process improvements to support scalability and efficiency.
  • Lead revenue tracking, reconciliation, and reporting activities across multiple monetization models.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of internal financial reports and partner-facing performance reporting.
  • Establish and maintain controls that support reporting accuracy, audit readiness, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Finance and Tax teams to support market expansion initiatives and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate tax registration, reporting, and payment activities across domestic and international markets.
  • Oversee reporting obligations, royalty calculations, payment processing, and reconciliation activities with rights management organizations.
  • Support onboarding and evaluation of new rights organizations and compliance partners.
  • Maintain compliance with evolving financial, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
  • Present operational insights, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives across platform operations and financial workflows.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Operations, or a related field required.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced business experience preferred.
  • Proven experience managing operational budgets, forecasting, accruals, vendor spend, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of digital platform business models, including advertising-supported, subscription-based, free ad-supported streaming, and transactional services.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, contract compliance, and operational workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting revenue-share calculations, royalty reporting, and transaction reconciliations.
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls, operational governance, and compliance processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems, procurement platforms, or financial management systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level presentations.
  • Experience within digital media, streaming platforms, connected television (CTV), digital distribution, or entertainment technology environments strongly preferred.


Work Experience



  • Experience leading cross-functional operational initiatives across Finance, Product, Technology, Legal, and Commercial teams.
  • Experience managing partner reporting, operational compliance, and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience developing scalable operational frameworks in complex, fast-paced business environments.
  • Prior experience supporting digital platform operations, streaming services, media technology, or related industries preferred.
