Job Description

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
Auburn Hills, MI



As a member of the operations team, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervising manufacturing personnel and operations, ensuring that quality, safety, productivity, schedule, delivery, and continuous improvement goals are achieved daily. This role will also support automation and advanced manufacturing initiatives by coordinating automated equipment operations, troubleshooting system-related issues, and driving process efficiency improvements. The Production Supervisor will ensure employees have the necessary training, tools, and equipment to perform quality work within established production timelines.



The Role:


Your work will include, but not be limited to:



  • Supervise daily production operations to ensure staffing, schedules, productivity, and quality goals are achieved efficiently.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Automation teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and support production improvements.
  • Monitor automated manufacturing processes, production metrics, downtime, and operational performance to drive efficiency.
  • Lead employee relations activities including training, coaching, conflict resolution, discipline administration, and workforce communication.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment while ensuring compliance with safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and emergency protocols.
  • Maintain accurate production, attendance, overtime, scrap, and performance records while supporting scheduling and HR processes.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, continuous improvement initiatives, and compliance with company procedures and IATF 16949 / ISO 14001 standards.
  • Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Qualifications:



  • 3-5 years of production and/or plant supervision experience in a manufacturing
  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and employee relations skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive employment relations and a high level of integrity.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and PC skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


Bonus If You Have:



  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing systems, robotics, or advanced production technology preferred.
  • Union Experience
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and problem-solving methodologies preferred.
  • Experience supporting plant launches or expansions
