Job Summary

The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, governance, and integrity of customer data across systems, processes, and business operations. As part of a cross-functional rapid-response team, this role serves as a central point of coordination between business and technology teams to identify, investigate, and resolve customer data issues that impact operational efficiency and customer experience. The ideal candidate possesses strong data governance, master data management, business analysis, and problem-solving skills, with experience supporting customer data platforms, ERP systems, CRM systems, or Customer 360 environments.

Job Responsibilities



  • Maintain ownership of customer data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems and business processes.
  • Review, analyze, and resolve customer data discrepancies, duplication issues, and data quality concerns.
  • Ensure alignment of customer records, hierarchies, pricing, billing, shipping, tax, and related customer attributes across platforms.
  • Investigate critical customer data, process, and system issues and drive timely resolution.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify and address underlying causes of customer data defects.
  • Collaborate with business, technology, and operational teams to resolve customer domain issues.
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce customer data standards, governance policies, and best practices.
  • Define and monitor data quality controls, validation processes, and governance procedures.
  • Partner with IT and data management teams to ensure accurate system configurations, integrations, and data flows.
  • Review projects and initiatives impacting customer data to ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Evaluate proposed changes and identify potential risks related to customer data integrity.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and gatekeeper for customer data-related initiatives and enhancements.
  • Coordinate with product, engineering, operations, finance, and vendor teams to support customer data initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and data quality metrics.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and status updates for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for customer data management activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Support special projects and additional duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, business analysis, customer data management, operations, or related functions.
  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) principles and data governance practices.
  • Experience with data quality management, data reconciliation, issue resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, CRM platforms, customer data platforms, or Customer 360 environments.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional business and technical teams.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and business reporting tools.


Work Experience



  • 5+ years of experience in customer data management, master data management, business analysis, operations, data governance, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting ERP, CRM, MDM, Customer 360, or enterprise data management platforms required.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments preferred.
  • Retail, distribution, supply chain, or customer operations experience preferred.
  • Experience leading data quality improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
