A Brief Overview

The Professionalism & Risk Management Coordinator supports operational functions of the Patient Advocacy Reporting System (PARS), Co-worker Observation Reporting System (CORS), and Corporate Risk Management programs. This position will interact with the Chairs of the Professionalism Committee, Chief Physician Executive, other executive leaders, Vanderbilt and physicians.

What You Will Do

Key PARS Program Responsibilities:

  • Schedules annual intervention dates
  • Schedules proposed meetings & creates appropriate agendas. As needed arrange for room reservation/locations, virtual meeting invites, send save the dates & invites, track & records attendees, distributes PARS folders and letters to recipients & messengers.
  • Participates during the PARS/CORS annual visit
  • Pulls egregious reports and distribute to appropriate parties
  • Assists with PARS unnamed list
  • Assists with PARS confirm MD List
  • Assists with PARS/CORS uploads
  • Keeps records of PARS/CORS messenger list provided by Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy (CPPA) along with communication to CPPA of who is not continuing as a messenger

    Key CORS Program Responsibilities:

  • Retrieves reports from secure messages and sends reports to be reviewed and distributed accordingly
  • Joins CORS committee during review of reports/folders (over e-mail/in person meetings)
  • Notifies through excel document with Committee decision to CPPA
  • Sends assigned reports/folders to messengers.
  • Keeps record of new messengers and provides CPPA with e-mail addresses

    Other Corporate Risk Management Responsibilities:

  • Support administration of the UH Sponsored Physician Program including responding to requests and queries, CRME compliance tracking and other documentation as required.
  • Assist in the management of the System's commercial and captive insurance and reinsurance programs including but not limited to property damage/business interruption, automobile, general/medical professional liability including the System's captive reinsurance program, excess workers' compensation, cyber liability, business travel accident, aviation, and directors & officers' liability. Duties include the preparation and compilation of underwriting data, applications, submissions and presentations.
  • Support in the System's claims management processes, including notification of liability claims to the captive, reinsurers and insurers, and assist in the administration of non-liability claims (excluding workers compensation) within System deductibles. Maintain accurate and complete loss runs as required.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
