Fire Protection Engineer

• Lead and maintain fire protection programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
• Perform fire hazard analyses, risk assessments, and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
• Review and approve fire protection system designs, calculations, drawings, and vendor submittals.
• Oversee inspection, testing, maintenance (ITM), commissioning, and acceptance testing of fire protection and life safety systems.
• Support emergency preparedness initiatives, fire prevention programs, and coordination with emergency response teams.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to internal teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Drive corrective actions, reliability improvements, and continuous program enhancements.

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of fire protection engineering experience in industrial, manufacturing, chemical, nuclear, DOE, or other regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection codes, standards, system design, and life safety requirements.
• Experience reviewing hydraulic calculations, alarm/detection systems, and fire protection drawings.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Q Clearance.
• PE license and experience with special hazard systems are highly preferred.
• Manufacturing, assembly, high-vacuum systems, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
