Join the Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) team, where you'll contribute to groundbreaking innovations! We are seeking applicants for an Electrical Engineering Assistant to join our Civil & Commercial Space Division.

We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated student to work alongside our world class Engineers developing, assembling, and testing mission hardware. Our students are an integral part of the development team and support project reviews, deliveries, and integration with the hope of becoming full-time employees upon graduation, depending on funding, performance, and program needs.

The selected candidate must be able to work as part of larger electronics teams, both internal and external to the SDL organization. They will need to own all aspects of the assigned responsibility alongside their mentor.

The Civil & Commercial Space Division is at the forefront of scientific research and space exploration. We equip major Government and commercial missions with calibrated state-of-the-art sensors and satellites. We also provide world-class AI&T technologies and mission management. Our projects include challenges across planetary science, Earth observation, heliophysics, and astrophysics. Being part of a team that pushes the boundaries of what's possible in space and contributes to monumental scientific discoveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists engineers in circuit design, simulation, and testing
  • Supports parts tracking
  • Designs cables
  • Maintains calibration on lab equipment
  • Learns from mentors
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled at Utah State University majoring in a related field (i.e., electrical engineering)
  • Must have at least one year of school remaining
  • Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week during school semesters and up to 40 hours per week during summer
  • Must be able to work effectively, both independently and as a team member
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be a US citizen,lawful permanent resident of the US, orother US person
