Under the supervision of the Associate Dean, Nursing, the Coordinator, Clinical, organizes clinical placement operations for associate degree Nursing (ADN) and Practical Nursing (PN) programs, ensuring sufficient, compliant clinical experiences for students. Serves as the primary liaison between the College and clinical partners and supports scheduling, communication, and student readiness for clinical participation.
Work is generally diversified requiring judgment, analysis and decision-making according to established practices and procedures. Supervision received is general. Daily responsibilities are completed independently using established policies and general objectives with interaction with supervisor limited to problems or unusual conditions.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

- Clinical Placement and Student Tracking: Coordinates clinical placements including coordination of preceptorship placements and related documentation for ADN and PN students; maintains accurate records of current and prospective student placements to ensure capacity and program continuity. Monitors student progression in clinical rotations and adjusts placements as needed to address enrollment changes or site availability.
- Clinical Partnership Coordination and Liaison: Serves as the primary point of contact for clinical partners, including healthcare organizations (specifically, Association of Nurse Educators of Wisconsin) and nursing leadership, to coordinate student placements and maintain ongoing relationships. Secures and maintains clinical sites, including evaluation of sites through visits and stakeholder feedback to ensure quality and suitability of learning experiences, to support program needs; represents the College in external meetings and collaborates with community partners to ensure alignment with program and regulatory expectations.
- Scheduling and Program Coordination: Collaborates with the scheduling department, faculty, and program leadership to develop clinical schedules, assign placements, and coordinate faculty coverage, including adjustments for emergent staffing needs. Serves as a liaison among faculty, students, and clinical partners regarding clinical logistics and placement needs.
- Recordkeeping, Documentation, and Reporting: Maintains accurate documentation and tracking systems for clinical placements, student compliance, and partner agreements; supports accreditation activities including documentation preparation, reporting, and site visit coordination along with other program support. Identifies trends and challenges related to placement capacity and recommends process improvements to enhance efficiency and program outcomes.
- Student Compliance Coordination: Processes and tracks documentation to ensure student compliance with clinical requirements, including health records, background checks, CPR certification, and safety standards. Facilitates onboarding activities, such as required fittings and documentation, and maintains ongoing communication to support clinical readiness and eligibility. Provides support to students and partners to address and resolve compliance issues affecting clinical eligibility.
- Student Support and Issue Resolution: Resolves student clinical placement issues in collaboration with faculty and program leadership, coordinating corrective actions, addressing eligibility concerns, facilitating stakeholder communication, and supporting grievance processes in alignment with program policies.
- Ethics and Confidentiality: Practices honesty by demonstrating a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles, values, truthfulness and accuracy in all actions. Addresses all student and employee behavior in a confidential and respectful manner.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Establishes, maintains, and enhances positive work relationships with staff, faculty, and administrators. Coordinates closely with the Facilities Planning team and leadership.
- Continuous Learning & Professional Development: Maintains current knowledge of best practices and standards in higher education with an emphasis on community Colleges. Actively organizes and/or participates in applicable workgroups, trainings, workshops, seminars, committees and professional associations or conferences to promote continuous learning.
- Other duties: Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.

Qualifications

Compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards/requirement, as well as all MATC policies and procedures.
Required Education & Experience: Associate's degree in nursing, health sciences, education, or a related field; Three (3) years of clinical work experience.
Preferred Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in nursing, health sciences, education, or a related field; One (1) year of clinical work experience.
Required Licensure/Certification: None
Preferred Licensure/Certification: RN license
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of PN and/or ADN nursing curricula.

Knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and clinical compliance requirements in nursing education. -
Experience in clinical coordination or healthcare program operations. -
Ability to understand, interpret and explain rules, regulations, procedures, and written and oral instructions. -
Ability to organize and analyze information and develop effective solutions. -

Start Date: This position supports the Healthcare Pathway and is available to start immediately. Hours: This position is a full-time position and works 40 hours a week (8am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday). In-person. All work must be performed in the state of Wisconsin. Compensation: Hourly pay rates are listed up to the midpoint of the range and placement is determined based on years of experience, internal equity, and a review of the applicant's employment and educational background as listed on the job application.
