Join Our Team as a Maintenance Technician at Epiroc!

Working as part of a small industrial maintenance team, you will plan, layout, and perform all required duties to maintain the facility (from the outside walls in) in good order, including to perform preventative maintenance and light repairs on equipment (including a conveyor system, racking systems, and dock doors), and maintain the outside fenced yard - where deliveries come and go.

Responsibilities:



  • Perform Preventive Maintenance of equipment
  • Perform basic HVAC repairs
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs on equipment located throughout the facility
  • Maintain buildings and test pads
  • Maintain material handling equipment
  • Conduct Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi Annual and Annual inspections as required
  • Operate forklifts, utility carts, power washers, sweeper, scrubber, man-lift, hand tools, power tools/ meters
  • Perform basic fabrication functions which may include minor welding
  • Assemble equipment as required
  • Help to maintain the cleanliness of the manufacturing facility
  • Paint columns, walls, floors, parking lots and equipment
  • Replace ceiling tiles
  • Change light bulbs
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Communicate status of work orders and projects to management
  • Perform duties outlined in the Maintenance Utility classification
  • Perform tradesman duties in carpentry, plumbing, masonry, millwright and general mechanical fields
  • Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and / or unusual conditions to management
  • Maintain work related records and reports
  • Enter information into the Maintenance Management system as required
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations / guidelines
  • Perform other duties as required or directed



Knowledge/Education:



  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • 5 years+ mechanical experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Journeyman's license for electrical work
  • Forklift certification or demonstrated ability to safely operate a forklift
  • Must have a basic understanding of troubleshooting principles and be able to apply those skills to discover a solution to a problem
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment, trouble-shooting equipment, hand & power tools
  • Use and comprehend operators' manuals, maintenance manuals, equipment specifications, blueprints, bills of Material, and schematics
  • Familiar with mechanical assemblies and electrical sequences and techniques
  • Required to read, write and comprehend English
  • Basic computer skills - including Outlook for email



Skills and Abilities:



  • Must be able to communicate well with other members of the maintenance team/management
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong work ethic/reliable

The work environment includes being regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds, frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds and is occasionally required to lift up to and in excess of 100 pounds.
