Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking an experienced Infection Control RN/Nurse Educator. Come join our Team for a challenging and rewarding career! Position Summary: TheInfection Control/Nurse Educatoris a registered professional nurse who will facilitate orientation for all new staff, focusing on nurses in the classroom setting during the last half of orientation, teaching and assessing many competencies and passing new staff off to preceptors who will oversee the completion of the orientation competencies.Assistswith formulation and implementation of training in areas identified as requiring follow-up and/or refresher education including but not limited to multi-cultural awareness and adiversitysensitivity curriculum.Evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team membersin accordance withthe nursing process and the standards of care and practices; addresses assessed needs with education programs whenappropriate. Oversees HeathStreams onlineeducation/training, uploads required education monthly for staff to complete. Providesprofessionalsupervisionsfor Behavioral Health Techs (BHTs) andRNswith less than one year of psychiatric experience. This position is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting healthcare-associated infections. This positioncollaborates with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention strategies. Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospitalprovides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adultssufferingfrom mental health and addictive illnesses. Qualifications Requirements: Education: Must have Master's Degree in a related field. Experience: Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar position - preferrable in a behavioral health setting. Cerification: Must be certified in infection contro and epidemiology.
