Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist to join the Interventional Radiology team. 1-2 call shifts per week, 1 weekend call per month, 2 holidays on call per year, 4 x 10 hrs shifts. Job Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots equipment effectively and places service calls to Biomedical when necessary.
- Anticipates procedure flow and works with other team members to produce the highest quality care.
- Provides a safe environment and identifies hazards immediately. Follows unit protocols to take corrective actions as needed.
- Demonstrates proficiency in imaging modalities in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology such as digital, laser printing, and cut film.
- Showcases an advanced knowledge of sterile techniques while assisting and supporting interventional radiologists during procedures.
- Demonstrates proper technique for injection of IV contrast, or other test-enhancing solution, under the guidelines of the American College of Radiology (ACR).
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
- Licensure - Registered Nurse Upon Start If the team member doesn't possess one of the above registries, the team member must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
- Certification - Basic Life Support Upon Start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Upon Start; Registered in one of the following: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Radiologic Technologist Vascular Interventional Radiology (RTR VI), Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular (RTR CV) or Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular Interventional (RTR CI) required. Unless at least 5 years of Interventional Radiology Tech experience with active RTR registry, OR a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. If a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program, must also have their Registered Technologist with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) upon hire.
- Experience - One year of experience in interventional Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab performing Cardio Invasive Specialist duties or equivalent years of experience as a nurse working in a critical care hospital unit.
- Education - Associate Degree Nursing Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and /or Graduate of an accredited, school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
