The Thrive Coach helps Goodwill employees overcome barriers to employment stability while supporting long-term personal, educational, and career growth. Through coaching, service navigation, and resource connection, the Coach empowers employees to thrive personally and professionally. Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide intensive, mission-driven case management and service navigation to employees working for Goodwill Keystone Area (GKA).
- Utilize the Thrive and Flourish Matrix as the primary framework for assessing employee wellbeing, identifying barriers, measuring progress, and developing individualized success plans. Monitor employee progress and outcomes utilizing established program metrics and reporting tools.
- Provide hands-on guidance and individualized solutions in areas including, but not limited to: housing stability, mental health, healthcare, transportation access, financial empowerment, technological literacy, self-advocacy, problem-solving, and utilizing community resources.
- Assist employees in identifying career pathways within GKA and the broader labor market, including skills development, credential attainment, educational opportunities, promotions, and family-sustaining employment goals.
- Serves as a neutral support resource and facilitator to help employees and their managers work collaboratively toward successful outcomes.
- Maintains quarterly visits to assigned stores within territory based on established schedule; attends established store meetings as requested and/or schedules store meetings as needed to market/discuss services provided with employees and managers.
- Maintains accurate documentation within 24 hours of the meeting by entering case notes, program referrals, and employee progress directly into the Datatracks case management software.
- Develops strong working relationships and collaborates with colleagues across various teams. Communicates progress, systemic barrier trends, and individual team member concerns directly to the Director of Mission Services.
- Champions GKA's community engagement initiatives and actively builds relationships with outside agencies, non-profits, and basic needs resources to expand the support network available to employees.
- Analyze employee trends and identify recurring barriers impacting retention, engagement, advancement, and wellbeing. Provide recommendations to leadership regarding opportunities for organizational improvement.
- Promotes an environment of workplace safety. Ensures that duties are performed in a safe manner and safety requirements are adhered to.
- Maintains appropriate confidentiality while balancing employee privacy, organizational policies, and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Communicates progress, problems, and concerns to the Director of Mission Services.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field preferred; or Associate's degree in Human Services with two (2) years of relevant work experience; or High School diploma or GED equivalent and four (4) years of relevant work experience that enables the individual to meet the expectations of the position.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
- Training in coaching methodologies, motivational interviewing, workforce development, case management, or related disciplines preferred. Additional professional development may be required.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including people with low incomes, providing case management, advising, support services and/or information and referrals.
- Experience working with persons in crisis preferred.
- Experience with teaching, training, facilitating or tutoring in the post-secondary realm preferred.
- Highly developed ability to problem solve.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and satisfactorily complete a motor vehicle check on an annual basis.
- Be willing to travel within assigned territory to meet the needs of participants and agencies/organizations that support them.
- Be willing to work a non-traditional work schedule that will include evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to work independently, coordinate weekly schedules and travel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must complete and successfully pass Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Clearance and FBI Clearance.
