HOLT CAT is looking for a College Intern to work with our CAT Support team and will be under the direct guidance of an experienced Shop Service Supervisor to receive on-the-job training. The intern's primary purpose is to learn and develop an understanding of the overall CAT Support Service Department operation. Department Machine Division (MAC) Employment Type Internship Location San Antonio Address 5665 SE Loop 410, San Antonio, Texas, 78222 Open in Google Maps Workplace type Onsite Essential Functions Receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from leadership Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards Requires regular and punctual employee attendance Perform maintenance Help install, repair, and replace mechanical and electronic components Clean and/or lubricate machines Examine and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure the proper functioning Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools Adjust, maintain, and repair equipment and machine components Perform welding and other NDT tasks to ensure standards are met Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn Basic computer skills Good written and verbal communication skills Time management and organizational skills Basic math calculations and the ability to read, write, and understand work instructions Requirements Education and Experience: * Currently enrolled in a College or Technical School Welding program Supervisory Responsibilities: None Travel: * No travel is expected for this position Physical Requirements: * This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations Work Environment: * Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions Disclaimer: Please note that the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
