Description

This position provides flexible, on-call/as-needed operational support to the Event Management team by assisting with venue setups, strikes, event transitions, and operational needs during periods of high event volume or staffing shortages. This role serves as an additional resource to ensure the successful execution of university events by providing hands-on support, assisting with event logistics, and helping maintain a high standard of service for campus partners and guests.

Event Operations Responsibilities:



  • Provide hands-on support for venue setups, strikes, and event transitions ranging from small meetings to large-scale university events.
  • Assist with the execution of event setup plans, including furniture placement, equipment movement, room configurations, and event-related logistics.
  • Support the Event Operations team during high-volume periods, including major university events, large venue flips, and tight turnaround timelines.
  • Assist with the coordination and completion of venue resets to ensure spaces are returned to appropriate condition following events.
  • Collaborate with Event Management staff, campus partners, and vendors to support successful event execution.
  • Assist with event equipment, furniture, and inventory needs, including moving, organizing, and maintaining operational resources.
  • Provide additional operational support when staffing needs exceed available team capacity.
  • Assist with last-minute event adjustments, troubleshooting, and logistical needs as they arise.


Scheduling & Availability:



  • Work on an as-needed basis based on event schedules, operational demands, and departmental needs.
  • Availability may include occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and early morning or late-night hours, depending on event requirements.
  • Flexibility to support peak event periods and high-priority university functions.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to consistently perform tasks requiring standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting moderate to heavy objects in support of event operations.
  • Ability to assist with moving tables, chairs, equipment, and other event-related materials.


Additional Responsibilities:



  • Maintain a professional and service-oriented approach when working with campus partners, guests, and event attendees.
  • Follow university policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Event Management department.
