Job Description
General Purpose of Job: Perform a variety of duties associated with warehousing, inventory management, storage, replenishment, transportation, and distribution of supplies, linens, medical gases, and materials utilized throughout the health system under direct supervision. Supports patient care and operational departments by ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely flow of products and services while maintaining inventory integrity and customer service standards. Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Receive, inspect, verify, unload, and distribute incoming freight and deliveries.
- Check inventory levels and replenish assigned PAR locations, storerooms, warehouses, linen areas, and other inventory locations.
- Fill requisitions and stock orders from warehouse and inventory locations and deliver supplies, linens, and materials to designated departments.
- Receive requests for supplies, linen, oxygen, and other materials needed immediately and provide timely delivery.
- Stock, organize, rotate, and maintain inventory in assigned warehouse, storeroom, linen, and departmental locations.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through routine inventory procedures, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory adjustments.
- Inspect supplies and linens for damage, expiration, or quality concerns and follow established procedures for returns and replacement.
- Order, receive, distribute, collect, inspect, sort, and replenish linen inventory according to established par levels and departmental requirements.
- Collect and transport soiled linen from designated collection areas while following infection prevention and safety procedures.
- Distribute, exchange, and transport oxygen cylinders and related medical gas equipment.
- Operate electric pallet trucks, pallet jacks, powered industrial trucks, carts, and other material handling equipment.
- Assist with loading and unloading truck deliveries and transportation vehicles.
- Maintain warehouse, dock, storeroom, linen rooms, and supply areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Utilize inventory management systems, handheld devices, computers, and mobile technology.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules while providing excellent customer service.
Job Requirements
| General Requirements |
* Valid Michigan driver's license with an acceptable driving record required * Acquire and maintain a powered industrial truck permit within 3 months of hire (if working at Lanac Warehouse) |
| Work Experience |
* Preferred: Previous experience in healthcare supply chain, materials management, warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics, distribution, linen services, customer service, or related operational environments. |
| Education |
* High school diploma or GED |
| Specialized Knowledge and Skills |
* The physical abilities necessary to lift, transport, distribute, and deliver a variety of supplies, linens, oxygen cylinders, equipment, and materials. * Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. * Ability to provide excellent customer service while interacting with clinical and non-clinical departments. * Ability to prioritize work and respond to routine and urgent customer requests. * Ability to accurately receive, store, distribute, replenish, and inventory supplies and materials. * Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and perform routine inventory procedures. * Ability to operate computers, handheld devices, inventory management systems, and mobile technology. * Ability to operate pallet jacks, powered industrial trucks, and other material handling equipment, preferred. * Demonstrates responsibility to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective flow of supplies, linen, medical gases, and equipment throughout the organization. |
