About the Opportunity:
- Responsible for all payroll tax activities, including compliance with local, state, and Federal regulations and filing local, state, and Federal payroll tax returns with the vendor.
- Responsible for all bi-weekly payroll tax function processing related to salary and hourly US employees.
- Understand tax withholding requirements for all states, multi-state and local taxes and set up taxes for employees based on their worked and lived-in location.

What You'll Do:
- Own all Payroll Tax functions such as payroll-related reporting, payroll-related signoff activities, and tax filings/reviews, and assist Accounting with payroll general ledger activities.
- Complete end-to-end tax processing and associated reconciliations for US employees.
- Process tax deposits, returns and amendments.
- Remain in compliance with all legal and institutional requirements affecting the payroll tax function.
- Research laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures.
- Create and distribute weekly/bi-weekly payroll reports to payroll, Finance teams and management.
- Handle the registration process for state withholding tax identification numbers/accounts, state unemployment insurance tax identification numbers/accounts, and other local tax accounts.
- Lead and manage all payroll agency correspondence.
- Ensure the payroll agency files monthly and quarterly reports timely and accurately to prevent penalties and interest.
- Manage year-end process including W2s and other tax forms.
- Reconcile and review vendor invoices to payroll accounting, utilizing an external vendor, the HR system and spreadsheet software.
- Complete routine audits and process adjustment entries (year-to-date taxes, taxable wages, earnings and deductions) on employee records.
- Manage and maintain Agency/Jurisdiction accounts current based on employee lived-in/work in assignments and W-4 forms.
- Continually monitor all employee accounts and check for accuracy, ensuring accurate taxation is applied to each employee record.
- Research, analyze, and resolve all payroll tax discrepancies, escalating to management as needed.
- Respond to questions and special requests from employees and regulatory agencies.
- Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports a culture of belonging and reflects the client Bank brand.
- Maintain the client internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

- Working closely with payroll team, internal and external auditors, tax vendor, and state and federal agencies
- biweekly and quarterly tax deposits, reconciliations, returns and amendments.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Payroll Tax
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Payroll
- Minimum of 2+ years of System Experience (i.e. ADP Smart Compliance, Workday Payroll, etc.)
