The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.
Toensure a safe, efficient, well-maintained hotel environment while providing maintenance services to guests in a courteous, professional, and engaging manner.
Essential Job Functions:
Receive directions fromEngineering management on daily assignments or projects.
Perform maintenance and repairs.
Perform dailyinspectionwalks and utility readings.
Perform PRP in guest rooms and public spaces to the specifications required byOmniSOP.
Answer room/guestrequeststhrough radio from PBX or Synergy system.
Assistsenior technicians with electrical, plumbing, kitchens, carpentry,pools,or HVAC repairs.
Assistduring building emergencies (e.g.,leak repairs).
Escort contractors and outside vendors.
Identifyand report need for major repairs.
Completeappropriate documentsand logs for work assigned daily.
Embrace all learning and training opportunities
Have a thorough understandingoffire alarm procedures and otheremergencies.
Clean all work areas after completing a job.
Maintain engineering shops in a clean and organized manner.
Maintain engineering parts and supplies inventory.
Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
Ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
Qualifications:
Intermediate levelposition with knowledge of general engineering tools and electrical equipment. Have an understanding of electrical, plumbing, andHVAC systems.
A minimum of 2 years of convention hotels and/or resort experience preferred.
Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Must be willing to work based on business and occupancy levels.
Must be able toworka flexible schedule including nights, weekends,holidays,andovertime.
Be able to fully understand, read and write in the English language, bi-lingual preferred.
PhysicalRequirements:
Wear personal protective equipment whenrequired.
Move, bend, lift, carry, crawl, squat, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds withoutassistance. Stand,walkor sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
Mustbe able to workutilizingladders,scissors,and aerial lifts.
Working Environment:
Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
Must work indoors and outdoors including extreme weather environments.
May be asked to be a part of"ride out"crew duringsevere weather events.
Tools & Equipment:
Must have general knowledge of various hand and power tools.
