About the Role:
The Solution Architect, Epic is the lead technical authority for how WebMD Ignite products integrate with, operate inside, and build on the Epic platform. As healthcare clients increasingly standardize on Epic as their system of record and engagement hub, this role owns the Epic technical relationship end to end - defining reusable integration patterns, serving as the senior technical point of contact for Epic-related client work, and tracking the Epic platform roadmap so that product and engineering can stay ahead of it. This is a senior, client-facing architecture role that establishes Epic fluency as a durable, repeatable capability rather than a per-client effort.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and own the standard integration patterns between WebMD Ignite products and the Epic platform - including campaign and contact management, patient portal, patient communications, FHIR-based integration, and emerging AI agent use cases - so that integrations are repeatable rather than bespoke. Serve as the single senior technical point of contact for Epic-related client engagements, supporting sales engineering on new opportunities and de-risking active engagements. Speed new-client onboarding and lower integration risk by leading discovery, integration design, and technical delivery for Epic work. Track the Epic release calendar and major announcements (such as UGM and HIMSS), and translate them into product and engineering implications before clients ask. Monitor and interpret Epic partner-program and marketplace requirements, ensuring WebMD Ignite maintains and strengthens its Epic ecosystem positioning. Raise the Epic fluency of the broader engineering organization through enablement, documentation, and reusable reference architectures. Ensure all Epic integrations meet HIPAA and PHI-handling requirements and align with client compliance obligations.
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in healthcare systems integration, including hands-on experience with the Epic platform. Deep Epic platform knowledge, including campaign and contact management, the patient portal, patient communications, and Epic integration technologies (for example Interconnect and Bridges), with familiarity with Epic's AI direction. Strong command of healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 FHIR (R4), SMART on FHIR, HL7 v2, C-CDA, and REST APIs. Strong working knowledge of the healthcare industry, patient privacy, HIPAA, and the handling of protected health information (PHI). Experience operating within HITRUST or similar compliance frameworks. Client-facing solution architecture experience, including discovery, integration design, and technical leadership across multiple concurrent engagements. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead technical conversations with both client stakeholders and internal teams.
Preferred Skills:
Epic certifications. Experience at or with an Epic marketplace / partner-program vendor. Exposure to agentic AI in clinical or patient-engagement workflows. Experience with programmatic patient outreach and engagement platforms.
