The University of Iowa Campus Safety is seeking a Temporary Threat Mitigation Consultant.

This position is performed fully in person.

Duties to include:

* Conduct threat assessment and monitor potential safety concerns through review of communications and coordination with appropriate internal and external partners.

* Provide personnel security support during high-visibility activities, events, and travel, maintaining situational awareness and readiness to respond to incidents.

* Perform advance planning for events and appearances, including site assessments, identification of emergency procedures, and collaboration with venue security and law enforcement personnel.

* Coordinate and support secure travel logistics, including route planning, escorting, and monitoring for potential risks.

Schedule: Special Events dependent

Location: UI Campus, other locations as needed

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:



  • Possession of certification from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy as a Law Enforcement Officer.
  • Experience in executive support services and risk mitigation.


* Valid Driver's license and ability to meet and maintain UI Driving Policy.

* Successfully complete a criminal background investigation.

Desirable Qualifications

* Ability to maintain a professional and respectful demeanor with the public that fosters good relations.

* Demonstrated customer service experience.
