What to Expect

Tesla's industrial energy storage fleet - Megapack, Megapack 2XL, and next-generationMegablock- is scaling into multi-gigawatt-hour utility infrastructure worldwide. For the first time at Tesla scale, service must own not only the pack but the Balance of Plant: medium-voltage transformers, switchgear, and upstream equipment from multiple OEMs, each with different warranty terms, switching rules, and maintenance obligations. That operational footprinthas tobe airtight - PM, CM, OEM warranty, technician skill models, switching digitization, and theInstallbaseand campaign tooling that makes it auditable.

This role owns BOP service engineering and operationalization end-to-end for industrial energy. You will turn incomplete multi-OEM process design into measurable PM/CM programs across regions - warranty flowcharts that reconcile OEM-to-Tesla and Tesla-to-customer obligations, equipment genealogy, global switching-order digitization, andLong TermService Agreement alignment work on the in-service industrial storage fleet.

This is not a status-tracking role. You will design and implement processes, forceOEMand regional clarity, and build the system of record so execution, cost, and adherence can be measured. You partner withMegablockNPI readiness, Service Software, Field Operations and Tier 2 (NAM / EMEA / APAC), Training & Procedures, Global Operations, Asset Management, and Commercial - and you bring service requirements into the product development process for internal medium-voltage equipment so serviceability is designed in, not bolted on after launch.

What You'll Do
  • Own end-to-end BOP operationalization - stand up preventive and corrective maintenance across multi-OEM medium-voltage equipment (transformers, switchgear, upstream BOP), including platform connections, and measurable execution, cost, and adherence
  • Define and implement OEM warranty management for BOP equipment - multi-vendor process flowcharts,Installbasewarranty fields auto-sourced where possible, and the tradeoff between OEM obligations to Tesla and Tesla obligations to customers
  • Drive the operating model for escalations - monitoring ownership, dispatch strategy, repair path, and costs - implemented consistently across regions
  • Own switching-order and logbook digitization as a global compliance system - centralized timestamps, operator/verifier identity, and audit readiness in every region
  • Build the technician, 3rd party, and remote support skill model for BOP and MV work - skill levels, training criteria, fleet-size headcount, dispatch-by-skill into correction codes for full remediation, and a path to 24/7 multi-region remote support
  • Operationalize BOP on both theMegablocklaunch path and the in-service industrial storage fleet - LTSA SOW alignment, campaign scope that matches contractual obligations, Tesla-owned site SOW, and upstream equipment when Sales creates non-standard service obligations
  • Represent Service Engineering on BOP operationalization and product development - partner with NPI readiness, Design/Product Engineering, Service Software, Field Ops, Training & Procedures, EHS, Global Operations, Asset Management, and Commercial; translate pilot learnings into durable global process; and inject service requirements into the product development process for internal medium-voltage equipment

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Systems, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years standing up or running service, O&M, or aftermarket operations for utility-scale energy storage, substation, medium-voltage transformers/switchgear, or comparable industrial power equipment; 10+ preferred; multi-OEM BOP or MV operations experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ownership of PM/CM program design, OEM warranty claim processes, switching/LOTO culture, and contract-to-field SOW translation (LTSA/GTC style documents) - you have shipped these processes, not only documented them
  • Ability to go deep on technical and operational problems: you can read a vendor GTC redline, a transformer or switchgear service manual, a switching flowchart, or a field escalation and form your own view on what will break in practice
  • Working knowledge of product development processes for medium-voltage or industrial power equipment - and the judgment to contribute serviceability and operationalization requirements early in the cycle
  • Demonstrated ownership of systems-of-record work - asset registries,Installbase-class configuration, campaign or work-order tooling, and the data fieldsrequiredto measure warranty response, availability, and adherence
  • Track recordof influence without authority across engineering, field operations, training, software, commercial, supply chain, and external OEMs/CSPs in a multi-region environment
