Maintenance Technician

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• Performs all duties (repair, corrective, projects and PM's) in an urgent, but safe manner.
• Develops and recommends changes to proactive programs to increase machine uptime.
• Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and materials
• Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components-- photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachs, and encoders
• Mentors junior technicians by motivating, providing guidance and directions to help them achieve their goals
• Develops and maintains a good working relationships across all levels in the organization
• Strong demonstrated ability with understanding electrical schematics, control logic, volt and ohm meter use.
• Completes all safety training as assigned by the Company and complies with all safety programs, policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.
• Knowledge and Experience in PM development and evolution using equipment failure history to determine best practices and procedures.
• Ability to develop procedures and protocols for machine repair, trouble shooting and upkeep.
• Ability, Knowledge and experienced in using TPM methodology, 5 Why, Root Cause Analysis and Identifying Critical Spare Parts for any equipment assigned.
• PLC programs, ability to troubleshoot ladder logic (read use for troubleshooting), components (CPU back planes, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices) and communications modules (Ethernet)
• Proficient in fabrication, hydraulics, electrical, PLC Programming, machining, welding, rigging and/or Electrical Controls Troubleshooting.
• Ability to work all days and shifts, including overtime (10 hours a day, 4 days a week operation, including holidays). Friday overtime is frequently scheduled.
• Ability to understand hydraulic schematics, troubleshoot hydraulic circuits and systems.
• Follows all OC Safety Policies and Procedures while performing maintenance on, in, and around the machinery.
• Other duties as assigned by team lead and/or manager.

EDUCATION / WORK REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two-year Technical Mechatronics degree preferred.
• Six years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment as a maintenance technician preferred.

• Ability to identify safety or equipment performance issues and secure appropriate resources to correct conditions effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly and professionally convey technical information both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure while meeting production and safety requirements.
• Consistently demonstrates conduct aligned with Owens Corning values, standards, and operational expectations.

Computer Skills:Intermediate computer knowledge, at an intermediate level in working with Microsoft Windows to include: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
