Job Summary

The Class A CDLDriver is responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer to deliver waterworks materials to construction sites and customer locations. This role involves primarily driving with limited loading responsibilities, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining DOT compliance, completing vehicle inspections, and providing excellent customer service. Candidates should be comfortable operating manual transmission vehicles and occasionally assisting with warehouse duties.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate a manual transmission tractor with a 48-foot trailer.
• Deliver waterworks materials, including fire hydrants, pipes, valves, and fittings, to customer job sites.
• Coordinate deliveries with contractors and customer contacts at delivery locations.
• Ensure materials are properly secured and transported safely.
• Obtain customer signatures and verify delivery documentation.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Comply with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Report vehicle issues, accidents, or moving violations promptly.
• Fuel assigned vehicle as needed.
• Pick up customer returns and local purchase orders when required.
• Occasionally assist with loading materials using a sit-down forklift.
• Assist with warehouse operations and general housekeeping as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with supervisors and customers throughout the day.
• Support additional transportation and warehouse duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Minimum one (1) year of Class A CDL driving experience.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Minimum one (1) year holding a Class A CDL.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience operating manual transmission tractor-trailers required.
• Ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift (training available if needed).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to secure loads and complete delivery documentation accurately.
• Ability to comply with DOT regulations and company safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules.

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
