The Orbital Welder is responsible for fabricating and welding high-purity stainless steel gas and fluid handling assemblies used in semiconductor and advanced manufacturing applications. This role performs orbital and TIG welding, interprets engineering drawings and specifications, and ensures all work meets quality, safety, and production standards.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Perform orbital and manual TIG welding of stainless steel tubing, components, and assemblies.
  • Fabricate, prepare, fit, and weld components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Set up and operate orbital welding equipment, welding power supplies, and fabrication tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Develop and optimize weld programs and parameters as needed for production requirements.
  • Inspect and verify weld quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with customer specifications.
  • Utilize measuring instruments, leak detection equipment, and other inspection tools to ensure product quality.
  • Perform tube preparation, cutting, facing, fit-up, and weld finishing activities.
  • Troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues and perform routine equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all safety and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to support manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in training and mentoring team members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current welding certification, or the ability to obtain and maintain certification.
  • 3+ years of experience in orbital welding, TIG welding, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Experience welding high-purity stainless steel tubing and assemblies preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Experience operating orbital welding equipment and associated fabrication tools.
  • Knowledge of tube preparation, purging methods, leak testing, weld inspection, and fabrication best practices.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and inspection equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Semiconductor, gas delivery, fluid handling, or related manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
