The Division of Adolescent & Young Adult Medicine houses premier clinical initiatives, including the Nourish for Life Outpatient Program and the Medical Stabilization Program for Disordered Eating at UCLA Santa Monica Hospital. The Division also provides a partnership with comprehensive gender-affirming care services housed in the med-peds program, as well as the newly-established pediatric gynecology program housed in the Department of OB/GYN. The Division offers robust residency and fellowship programs that prepare the next generation of leaders in adolescent health through exceptional clinical training, mentorship and scholarship. The Chief of the Division of Adolescent & Young Adult Medicine will provide strategic and day-to-day oversight to advance the growth of the Division in clinical care, education, research, and community outreach. This full-time faculty role, at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, requires a visionary individual with excellent leadership and communication skills to expand the Division's research, educational, and clinical activities. Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Division's educational programs. Located on the campus of an internationally renowned research university with a $1 billion research portfolio, the Department of Pediatrics is uniquely poised for transformational cross-disciplinary innovations and leading-edge research, including being connected to the UCLA Children's Discovery and Innovation (CDI) which was founded in 2013. The CDI was created to further the culture for innovation and groundbreaking collaborative research by maximizing collaborations among renowned pediatric physician-scientists. The Institute enhances the department's ability to continue to lead in the effort to improve children's health care and to create new models for health care delivery. The Department of Pediatrics benefits from numerous renowned institutes and interdepartmental relationships in close physical proximity across the unified UCLA campus. Candidates must possess an M.D. degree or equivalent, be board certified/eligible in a relevant specialty, and be eligible for California medical licensure. A subspeciality certification in Adolescent Medicine is preferred but not required.
