Your Job

Molex is seeking a Reliability Lab Manager to lead the strategic direction, talent development, and operational excellence of our Reliability Laboratory in Rochester Hills, Michigan. In this leadership role, you will lead a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians responsible for reliability, environmental, mechanical, and electrical testing that supports product qualification and customer success.

This position offers a unique opportunity to influence both people and technical capability development while partnering with Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Customer teams to deliver data-driven insights that improve product performance and reliability. Our Team

The Reliability Laboratory plays a critical role in validating product performance and supporting the development of innovative connector and interconnect solutions. As part of a global organization, this team partners closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and customer-facing teams to deliver testing expertise, technical insights, and reliability solutions that support business growth and customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop laboratory engineers, supervisors, and technicians to build a high-performing, contribution-motivated team
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence
  • Provide strategic direction for laboratory operations, resource planning, test scheduling, and capability development
  • Manage laboratory performance through key metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, utilization, and financial results
  • Ensure efficient execution of reliability, environmental, vibration, shock, thermal, humidity, mechanical, and life testing activities
  • Support product qualification, design validation, customer investigations, and failure analysis initiatives
  • Provide technical leadership related to reliability engineering, and accelerated testing
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action efforts associated with reliability concerns and test failures
  • Develop and execute laboratory strategy, capital investment plans, and long-term capability roadmaps
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and testing methodologies to improve laboratory effectiveness and value creation
  • Collaborate with global laboratory teams to align equipment, processes, testing methods, and best practices
  • Support business growth through capacity planning, forecasting, and technical capability expansion
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, customer requirements, ISO standards, and laboratory procedures
  • Promote Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) excellence and support audit and continuous improvement activities

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Seven (7) years or more experience in reliability engineering, validation, testing, laboratory operations, or product qualification environments for automotive products
  • Three (3) years or more experience leading technical teams, including supervisors and direct reports
  • Experience managing projects, budgets, or cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience supporting reliability engineering activities, environmental testing, accelerated life testing, or failure analysis
  • Experience supporting automotive, industrial, electronics, connector, or interconnect product qualification activities

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Experience with statistical analysis software, reliability modeling, life testing, or data analytics tools
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Experience with ISO 17025 laboratory practices and accreditation requirements
  • Experience developing laboratory strategies, capital plans, and capability roadmaps
  • Experience collaborating across global testing or engineering organizations
