ABOUT THE ROLE

The Sr. Marketing Communications Coordinator leads both external public relations and internal communications efforts, developing strategies that strengthen Wells' brand and keep employees informed across the organization. This role creates compelling content, manages media and thought leadership initiatives, and delivers communications in multiple formats to effectively reach a largely frontline workforce without regular access to email or intranet tools. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and relationship builder who can translate complex, technical topics into engaging stories that connect with employees, customers, and industry audiences.

WHAT YOU'LL DO


External Communications & PR

  • Lead Wells' external communications and public relations strategy.
  • Secure earned media coverage through regional and national media outlets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists and AEC industry publications.
  • Develop thought leadership content including press releases, bylined articles, case studies, and blogs.
  • Partner with and coach subject matter experts to translate technical knowledge into engaging, audience-focused stories.


Internal Communications

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy.
  • Create multi-format communications including digital signage, printed materials, team leader briefings, and intranet content.
  • Build and manage a network of internal contacts across manufacturing facilities to support consistent message delivery.
  • Support communications related to organizational changes, initiatives, and transformations.
  • Ensure all communications align with Wells' values and reinforce a safety-first culture.


Communications Planning, Governance & Measurement

  • Develop and manage integrated content calendars aligned with marketing initiatives.
  • Establish communications standards, templates, and approval processes to ensure brand consistency.
  • Set and manage annual public relations and communications goals.
  • Track and measure communication effectiveness using engagement, reach, impressions, and audience feedback.
  • Use performance insights and metrics to continuously improve communication strategies and outcomes.


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is a creative and organized marketing professional who excels at managing projects and delivering impactful campaigns. They are proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled at communicating effectively across teams and platforms. This individual brings a data-driven mindset, embraces innovation, and is motivated to enhance brand visibility and business results.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE



  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven success securing earned media coverage and building media relationships.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple communication formats.
  • Ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, engaging content.
  • Experience interviewing, collaborating with, and coaching subject matter experts.
  • Demonstrated ability to set, track, and report on communications performance metrics.
  • Strong project management, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with internal communications, employee engagement, or change management communications.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), content calendars, and basic SEO principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and visual communication tools, including PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe InDesign.
