| Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant for the
RWJUH Family Medicine Residency Program in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. This position is under the direction of the Family Medicine and Community Health Residency Program Director and the Behavior Health psychologist.
The Department of Family Medicine's residency program is seeking a Balint group facilitator. Facilitators would meet with residents once per month throughout the academic year, during a scheduled didactic block. The facilitator would review challenging medical encounters that the residents have encountered, encouraging collective problem solving and processing of the experience of providing medical care. The group would focus on improvements in grappling with physician burnout, effective patient communication, and increasing collaboration among resident physicians.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Meet with residents monthly for one hour/week to conduct Balint group.
- Meet with Family Medicine's Behavioral Scientist to review group administration and receive supervision.
- Maintain accurate documentation and record keeping for all meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
