Our Promise to Our Teammates: Truliant strives to provide all teammates with an enjoyable place to work where they feel valued, empowered and rewarded for all that they do.

Why this role matters

Insurance decisions can have a lasting impact on a member's financial well-being. As an Insurance Agent, you'll help Truliant members understand their options, secure appropriate coverage, and receive responsive support when their needs change.

If you enjoy combining relationship-building, problem-solving, and measurable sales goals with meaningful member service, this role could be a great fit.

What you'll do

You'll manage and grow a portfolio of insurance relationships while delivering prompt, accurate service. Working with members, credit union partners, and insurance carriers, you'll identify coverage needs, prepare quotes and policy changes, support renewals and claims follow-up, and look for thoughtful opportunities to deepen each relationship.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Connect with members through referrals, service calls, and outbound outreach to provide quotes, support policy needs, and contribute to agency growth goals.

  • Own account activity from application and carrier placement through renewals, endorsements, cancellations, documentation, and claims follow-up, with close attention to accuracy and response times.

  • Review existing coverage, identify additional insurance needs, and collaborate with members and carriers to recommend practical next steps.

  • Beyond that, you'll maintain current knowledge of rating products and agency processes while helping Truliant Insurance Services retain existing accounts and build new member relationships.

What you bring

You'll succeed here if you can balance a member-first approach with strong follow-through, sound insurance judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

This role is a great fit if you have:

Required Experience:

  • 3 or more years of independent insurance agency experience, or 3 or more years of comparable financial services or credit union experience that has built equivalent knowledge and capabilities.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to clearly explain coverage, recommendations, and next steps in writing, by phone, and in person.

  • Ability to gather and document complete account information, evaluate carrier placement, and process quotes, applications, endorsements, renewals, and service requests accurately and on time.

  • Ability to organize competing priorities, adjust quickly as needs change, and use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote effectively.

Education/Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • North Carolina Property & Casualty insurance license required upon hire, or the ability to obtain it within 6 weeks including passing and attending the InsurAcademy pre-licensing program.

  • You should also be comfortable working toward outbound call, quote, policy sales, and cross-sell goals while keeping member needs and accurate service at the center of each interaction.

What sets you apart

You don't need to check every box, but here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • 1 or more years of experience using AMS360 and PL Rater.

What you'll get

We believe in supporting our team members both professionally and personally.

In this role, you can expect:

  • Purpose-driven work that helps Truliant members protect what matters through responsive service and straightforward insurance guidance.

  • Opportunities to deepen your insurance expertise through varied account work, carrier collaboration, licensing support, and continued learning.

  • A collaborative, member-first environment where your attention to detail, initiative, and relationship-building contribute directly to agency success.

  • The chance to build broad experience across quoting, policy servicing, renewals, claims follow-up, and account growth.

  • A culture that values service, accountability, and continuous improvement as Truliant Insurance Services grows and supports more members.
