Salary Range Starting At: $20.00/hour Job Description: As the Community Development Coordinator you will serve the Evansville Corps Service Area (Vanderburgh, Warrick and Posey Counties) as a part of the development team. This position will work toward the expansion of services in the Evansville Area through the recruitment, development, coordination, and placement of volunteers for Christmas fundraising, social services programs, corps programs and special community events. This position will develop and cultivate relationships with community partners and serve as a representative of The Salvation Army throughout the community. The position also focuses on increasing awareness of The Salvation Army's ministry through social media, digital communications, promotional materials, and community engagement ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out. Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate or bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field preferred. Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed. Experience: Prior experience with nonprofit organization or other vocational experience working with volunteers, community members, or community partners. Experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, marketing, communications, event coordination, or related work preferred. Experience with social media, digital content, and graphic design platforms preferred. Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.
