Salary Range Starting at $14 per hour

Job Description:

As the Angel Tree Coordinator, you will assist in the oversite of development, implementation, and review of the Angel Tree Program for New Albany Corps ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

What You Will Do:



  • Participate, as the leader and member of the casework team, in the interviewing, assessment, and approval process of clients as they come to The Salvation Army for Christmas assistance.
  • Work cooperatively with other community agencies as we work collaboratively to meet the needs of the clients.
  • Maintain documentation in client files for input into the TSAMM program.
  • Assist with all aspects of the Angel Tree program including but not limited to, identifying sponsors, identifying and obtaining needed supplies, packing angel tree bags, ensuring every Angel has been accounted for, recruiting, training, and directing volunteers, and coordinating pick up of Angel gifts from sponsors.
  • Provide interpretation for Spanish speaking clients.



Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience: Experience with event and volunteer software and implementation of large social service events; working with multiple community agencies and sites preferred

Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe from Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.

Skills/Abilities:



  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems
  • To work in a fast-paced environment ensuring multiple projects and timelines are completed; comfortable working in team environment and able to complete tasks independently

Physical Requirements Include:



  • Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
  • Lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 25 pounds

  • May require standing for extended periods



Travel: Local travel required

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a variety of settings to include office, event venue, Corps, warehouse, and community agencies. May require some weekend and evening work
