Position summary

Senior Financial Reporting Analyst responsible for financial reporting and analysis related to restricted and philanthropic funds, trusts, endowments, and invested assets. This role works with temporarily restricted funds, spending rules, and fund distributions; analyzes and presents financial data; and partners with stakeholders on financial reporting and strategic projects. The team is looking for someone with nonprofit/fundraising or philanthropic fund experience who is proactive, independent, and comfortable presenting financial information.

Key responsibilities

* Lead analytical support for long-term strategic programs and assigned projects
* Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries and account reconciliations
* Analyze general ledger accounts, cost centers, grants, and special funds
* Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for corrective action
* Support operating budget development and financial planning
* Prepare financial and statistical reports for monthly close, quarterly reviews, and year-end audits
* Prepare reports for grant sponsors, donors, and federal agencies
* Lead ad-hoc projects focused on improving hospital operations and financial performance
* Present executive-level financial analyses and recommendations
* Partner with department managers and senior leadership to develop action plans
* Review regulatory and external reporting requirements
* Mentor junior team members and support the development of analytics skills
* Maintain supporting documentation, schedules, reconciliations, and other financial records

Minimum qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field.

Experience:
5 years of experience in financial reporting and analysis in a hospital setting.

Schedule:
Remote- 8-5 M-F

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
