Department of Neurology Basic Scientist

The Department of Neurology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Tenure status will be determined based on qualifications. Responsibilities include leading an independent, externally funded research program in neurogenetics, precision neurology, or a related field; collaborating with basic, computational, translational, and clinical investigators; mentoring trainees; and contributing to departmental and institutional service. Physician-scientists may also participate in clinical activities.

Qualified candidates will hold a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree and have relevant postdoctoral or advanced research experience. Candidates should demonstrate strong scholarship and the ability to develop and sustain an independent research program, including a record of or clear potential for external funding appropriate to career stage. The successful candidate will have expertise that complements institutional strengths in neurogenetics and precision neurology and a commitment to collaboration and mentorship. Leadership opportunities are available for qualified candidates. Candidates with clinical responsibilities must be eligible for medical licensure in Illinois.

The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.

The expected base pay range for this position is $113,000 - $420,000.
