Job Description Summary

Position Objective:

The Manager, Information Security Operations has a pivotal role in operating the organization's cybersecurity strategy and is accountable for running the company's Information Security Operations strategy.

As the company's senior technical security manager, you will manage the execution of the security operations strategy, architecture, and day-to-day operations. Additionally, you will ensure the execution of the security operations center in detection and response for security incidents and oversee the process of the CSIRT (Computer Security Incident Response Team) in partnership with the Director, Information Security Engineering & Operations, operating as the Incident Response Commander.

The overall goal is to support and maintain the Sunbelt Rentals posture for confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our digital assets while fostering a culture of security and compliance. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence and drive Information Security initiatives in alignment with the company's business goals and to deliver these outcomes daily.

This role must be effective in people, process, and technology management to deliver a mature program, while pushing for innovation in the security operations functional area. Sound technical and interpersonal leadership must be applied in a consistent and direct manner.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and strategic management of Information Security Operations functions, to include incident response, red / purple / blue team, traditional and Artificial Intelligence threat management, continuous monitoring, insider threat, and forensics.

• Provide strategy and guidance to the business leadership in support of strategic business planning and corporate cybersecurity policy adherence.

• Ensure all security tools and solutions are appropriately right-sized and tuned, developed, and implemented short-, medium-, and long-term road maps, and must understand the latest external trends, the threat landscape, and current technologies.

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of cybersecurity professionals, fostering skill development and career growth.

• Assess and manage enterprise-wide cybersecurity risks, and incidents, implementing proactive measures to mitigate potential threats.

• Provide strategic guidance on technology investments, security architecture, and solutions to safeguard critical assets.

• Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends, applying this knowledge to refine and enhance cybersecurity strategies.

• Innovate, design, and improve SBR security capabilities.

• Define and drive KPIs and measurables to track, record, improve security risk management

• Report on Information Security Operations status, trends, and risk

• Participate and provide Information Security insight to the Sunbelt Rentals Enterprise Architecture Committee.

Requirements:

• Multifaceted leadership experience with a demonstrable record of success.
• The ideal candidate will be highly qualified in building and running technology information security organizations, leading highly skilled people in a fast-paced career field, and have a natural curiosity and critical thinking approach to continuously analyzing situations and considering their impact beyond the immediate issue.
• Ability to lead and empower multi-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.

• Serve as a mentor and manager for defining and driving goals and performance of the Information Security Operations groups.

• Exemplary interpersonal and customer-facing skills and ability to interface with multiple levels within the Sunbelt Rentals business.

• Strong technical expertise in cybersecurity, including knowledge of network security, encryption, authentication, and threat detection/prevention.

• Management of 3rd party support and services.

• Incident response management and continuous improvement

• Proven track record of developing and executing cybersecurity strategies that align with business objectives.

• Exceptional business acumen, with the ability to understand and integrate cybersecurity goals into broader organizational goals.

• Experience managing security incidents, conducting investigations, and implementing corrective actions.

• Strong ability to prioritize work tasks and deliver actions in a defined and orderly manner.

• Strong ability to work collaboratively across teams with quickly changing priorities.

Education & Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in an Information Security discipline including security operations and engineering.

• 5+ years' experience of Information Security leadership in a large enterprise.

• CISSP, CISM or other IT certifications are preferred.

• Demonstrated ability of leading, mentoring, and managing people, processes, and technology.

• Demonstrated skill at analyzing and preventing security incidents across multiple platforms.

• In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network security issues and approaches.

• Broad knowledge of other areas of IT.

• Strong desire to learn and understand cyber security principles, trends, and actions.

• Ability to write clear documentation and reporting.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.
