Position Overview




Primary Purpose of Position
To serve as administrative and fiscal management support for Campus Recreation, Intramural Sports and Esports. This will include, budgeting, purchase orders, submitting student EPAF's, filing, Banner finance, intramural student travel, clerical, ability to maintain and utilize office equipment, ability to explain and interpret program information and respond and compose correspondence involving questions or issues about information.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
To provide a variety of campus recreation activities that will focus on Fitness and Wellness and Intramural Sports to contribute to a healthy lifestyle for students, faculty, and staff of North Carolina A & T State University.
Work Hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site)
Key Responsibilities and Related Competencies


Required Competency Problem Solving
Duties
Resolves problems and situations related to the Campus Recreation Center that would not require director's direct involvement. For example, might handle dress code violations with student workers; try to resolve duplicated calendar times; obtain quotes from various vendors. Problems are addressed in accordance with priorities, policies, commitments and program goals.

Exercises independent judgment and understands the impact of the decisions on the administrators' role and commitments. Coordinates and facilitates processes and procedural compliance with internal and external organizations, working within delegated authority from the director.


Required Competency Budgeting
Duties
Plans and monitors the use of expenditures to meet organizational objectives and compliance; prepares Aggie Mart requisitions; prepares budget documents and reports; monitor budgets through Banner Finance.


Required Competency Work Coordination
Duties
Facilitates the flow of work, facilitate or directs the office support activities and coordinates work with staff and external fitness instructors; maintains internal and external contacts with constituents such as class instructors, and vendors.


Required Competency Information/Records Administration
Duties
Applies knowledge of appropriate data collection policy and procedure and programs. Compiles and assimilates, organizes, and stores printed and electronic information related to student employment, travel, po's, etc. Reviews, compiles and analyzes information to prepare monthly financial reports to include programming revenue and fitness revenue.

Duties
Responds to questions/issues that deviate from standard operating procedures by determining and consulting appropriate resources such as policies, manuals or staff. Listens and responds appropriately to information from students and staff. Develops and delivers written information to individuals to ensure that they understand the message. Responds to requests for program and procedural information. Contacts service recipients, vendors, or clients to provide or obtain information. Schedules and coordinates appointments, meetings and events.
