Location: This position will be on-site full-time in St. Charles, IL. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min).

Summary:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Warehouse Manager oversees the overall operations of the company's warehouse. They manage the inventory by ensuring that the inventory records are updated and accurate, ensure that items in the warehouse are appropriately stored and secured, and supervise the shipping of items from the warehouse and ensure that the correct products are delivered. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for continuously finding ways to improve the efficiency of warehouse operations while managing the warehouse personnel and ensuring that they are trained well and motivated to work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Directs warehousing activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates:

  • Ensures that the warehouse operates safely at all times while working at peak efficiency - with customer satisfaction the primary goal - by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals.
  • Responsible of promoting a culture of safety, quality, customer focus and collaboration in the warehouse operations and while working with other functional areas in the site.
  • Responsible for identifying and eliminating un-safe conditions, un-safe acts. Promotes and ensures a safety culture in the warehouse operations and while interacting with the rest of the operation.
  • Supervises daily warehouse activities, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.
  • Schedules warehouse team and manages the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
  • Establishes warehouse practices, protocols, and operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, disposition of materials, and maintenance of warehouse inventory by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, gate processes, and shipping methods.
  • Ensures receiving and shipping transactions are accurate and timely.
  • Manages daily, weekly, cycle counts and monthly, quarterly or yearly physical inventories, working with Purchasing and Finance Teams to reconcile inventory.
  • Keeps warehouse orderly and clean - Conducts 5S events in the warehouse area.
  • Sets warehouse and team goals in collaboration with executive management and other team leads.
  • Inspects equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversees general maintenance when necessary.
  • Meets regularly with warehouse team to analyze productivity and develop actionable plans for loss prevention.
  • Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers and air partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages.
  • Manages departmental spending to within budget. Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
  • Participates in quality corrective action meetings.
  • Coordinates recycling programs with outside contractors.
  • Ensures compliance with existing safety policies and procedures by inspecting physical condition of warehouse and equipment, as well as, participating in the planning of personnel safety and plant protection activities.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.

Qualification Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED); Associate degree (or equivalent) in logistics or supply chain management, preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of Warehousing and management experience.
  • Forklift Certified, is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of ERP experience, Sage 100 is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual English - Spanish is preferred.
  • Good project management skills, including strong decision-making, problem-solving and strategic planning abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.
  • Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, sense of urgency, and ability to complete tasks quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to function efficiently in a high-volume logistics operation and execute transactions in an IT system, such as a Warehouse Management System.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to contribute positively to team morale.
