The Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time tenure track Investigator at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor to fill the role of Director, Feinberg Cardiovascular & Renal Research Institute. Responsibilities include serving as the Institute's chief scientific and administrative leader, responsible for shaping and advancing a bold, forward-looking vision for cardiovascular and renal research that spans fundamental discovery, translational science, and clinical investigation.

The successful candidate will develop and execute a strategic research agenda, recruit and mentor outstanding faculty, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and build programs that accelerate the translation of fundamental discoveries into improvements in patient care. Reporting to the Chair, Department of Medicine, and working closely with institutional leadership, donors, industry partners, and external stakeholders, the Director will oversee the Institute's resources, expand its research portfolio, and strengthen its national and international reputation for scientific excellence and innovation.

Qualified candidates will possess an MD &/or PhD and be an accomplished physician-scientist or scientist with an internationally recognized research program, a strong record of NIH or equivalent funding, and a demonstrated history of scientific leadership, mentorship, and collaborative scholarship. Candidates should possess the vision and experience to lead a multidisciplinary research institute, build exceptional teams, secure programmatic and philanthropic support, and accelerate the translation of fundamental discoveries into advances in human health.

The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.

The expected base pay range for this position is $311,310 - $423,858.

Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
