Company Overview AdaMarie is a mission-driven independent department of Advanced Clinical, dedicated to connecting early-career STEM professionals-particularly women and underrepresented talent-with employers, educational partners, and career development opportunities. Through its integrated suite of products and services, including a job board, professional network, educational programs, and virtual summits, AdaMarie empowers talent to thrive while helping organizations build more equitable, engaged, and high-performing teams. What You'll Do AdaMarie is looking for a Community Manager to help make our community feel like a community, both online and off. You'll be the person behind the comments, DMs, Slack conversations, member welcomes, and everyday interactions that give AdaMarie its personality. On social, you'll bring our existing strategy to life through conversation: engaging with our audience, jumping into relevant cultural and industry moments, and helping build a recognizable outward-facing AdaMarie personality. Within the AdaMarie Professional Network (APN), you'll welcome members, start conversations, make connections, support and host events, and create reasons for people to keep coming back and participating. Key Responsibilities Social & Brand Engagement * Own day-to-day community engagement across AdaMarie's social channels, with a primary focus on LinkedIn and Instagram and secondary engagement across TikTok, Threads, and Facebook. * Monitor and respond to comments, DMs, mentions, tags, and relevant conversations with warmth, personality, and good judgment. * Proactively engage beyond AdaMarie's owned channels by commenting on relevant posts, joining timely conversations, interacting with community members and organizations, and identifying opportunities to introduce new audiences to AdaMarie. * Help build a recognizable social personality for AdaMarie that feels smart, playful, welcoming, culturally aware, and distinctly human. * Stay plugged into social trends, internet culture, platform behavior, and conversations happening across STEM and early-career communities. * Occasionally support the creation of timely or community-driven social content when an opportunity naturally emerges. APN Community Engagement * Serve as a consistent, welcoming presence within the AdaMarie Professional Network Slack community. * Welcome new members and help them understand how to get involved, find resources, and connect with others. * Create conversation starters, prompts, informal activities, member spotlights, and other opportunities for members to participate. * Make thoughtful introductions and help connect members with people, resources, events, and opportunities that may be useful to them. * Pay attention to what members are asking for, talking about, excited about, or struggling to find, and share those insights with the broader AdaMarie team. * Help establish a consistent community rhythm that gives members reasons to return, participate, and build relationships with one another. Community Programming & Outreach * Support, host, and moderate virtual community programming such as networking sessions, coffee chats, member discussions, book clubs, and other informal gatherings. * Bring forward your own ideas for community activities and programming based on what you're seeing and hearing from members. * Support member engagement around larger AdaMarie programs and events, including the Career Navigation Summit and Career Accelerator. * Help identify and build relationships with potential community members, speakers, collaborators, and AdaMarie Mirrors participants. * Conduct AdaMarie Mirrors interviews with women in STEM and help turn each spotlight into an opportunity for broader community conversation and connection. * Help create thoughtful "surprise and delight" moments that make community members feel seen, remembered, and valued. Strategy, Collaboration & Reporting * Work closely with AdaMarie's Programming, Marketing & Communications and Business Operations leads to ensure community engagement aligns with broader content calendars, programming, events, and company priorities. * Maintain lightweight, organized systems for tracking engagement, outreach, community activity, and follow-ups. * Monitor basic community and social performance, including engagement, participation, community growth, and standout moments. * Surface recurring questions, emerging sentiment, potential issues, promising ideas, and opportunities the rest of the team should know about. * Help us understand not just how many people are engaging, but what they are responding to and what we can learn from it. Within Your First 30 Days You'll focus on getting to know AdaMarie before trying to reinvent it. By the end of your first month, you should: * Understand AdaMarie's voice, audience, programs, social strategy, and overall brand personality. * Become familiar with APN members and the existing rhythm of the Slack community. * Understand our current programming and marketing calendars and how community engagement fits alongside them. * Begin confidently managing day-to-day comments, DMs, mentions, and social engagement. * Establish yourself as a consistent and recognizable presence within APN. * Begin welcoming new members, starting conversations, and identifying opportunities for connection. * Learn the systems and processes used to track engagement, outreach, and community activity. * Start identifying ideas and opportunities you'd like to test. Within 90 Days By 90 days, we want you to feel real ownership over the day-to-day AdaMarie community experience. You should be: * Independently managing social and community engagement without needing constant direction. * Developing a recognizable, consistent AdaMarie personality across comments, DMs, and social interactions. * Maintaining an active presence in APN and helping members connect with one another. * Regularly bringing forward ideas based on what you're seeing across social platforms and within the community. * Hosting or supporting recurring community programming and experimenting with new ways for members to connect. * Building relationships with members, prospective community members, Mirrors participants, speakers, and other people within the AdaMarie ecosystem. * Supporting engagement around major AdaMarie programming and events. * Using basic reporting and community feedback to identify what is resonating, what isn't, and what we should try next. * Spotting opportunities and acting on them without waiting for someone else to assign them to you. The goal isn't simply to keep our channels active. It's to make AdaMarie feel like a place people want to come back to. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is naturally online, naturally curious, and genuinely enjoys talking to people. You understand what makes a brand feel human, know the difference between being timely and trying too hard, and can write a comment that sounds like a person rather than a corporate account. Once you understand AdaMarie's voice, audience, goals, and boundaries, we want you to run with them: bring us ideas, notice opportunities we haven't, and make thoughtful decisions without needing constant direction. You don't need to be a STEM expert. You do need to be curious about the people building careers in STEM and excited to learn what matters to them. We want someone who sees a quiet Slack channel and thinks, I have an idea, not What should I post? You might be a great fit if you: * Are an excellent, natural writer who can adapt your voice without sounding scripted or overly polished. * Spend enough time online to understand how people actually communicate there. * Have strong instincts for social media, internet culture, humor, timing, and when a brand should or shouldn't enter a conversation. * Genuinely enjoy meeting people, asking questions, making introductions, and helping others feel included. * Are comfortable facilitating a conversation, interviewing someone, or hopping on Zoom to host a casual community event. * Are proactive and self-directed. You don't need a detailed assignment to find something useful to do. * Notice things. A quiet community, an unanswered question, an interesting member, a trending conversation, or a potential connection feels like an opportunity to you. * Can balance personality with judgment and understand that being engaging doesn't mean chasing every trend. * Are organized enough to keep track of conversations, follow-ups, outreach, and commitments while moving quickly. * Are comfortable experimenting, learning what works, and changing course when something doesn't. * Are interested in STEM careers and the people building them, even if you don't come from a STEM background yourself. * Care about building community for the long term, not simply increasing follower counts. Previous professional community management or social media experience is helpful, but it isn't the most important thing to us. If you're an exceptional communicator, deeply understand online communities, have strong instincts, and are the kind of person who naturally starts conversations and brings people together, we want to hear from you.
