Role: Sr Mainframe Developer Duration: 6 Months Location: Southlake or Austin, TX(Hybrid) Job Description: We are seeking a well-experienced Mainframe Software Developer with skills and expertise in application Modernization, specifically with interfaces between Legacy mainframe and Distributed applications. In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture solution, design, development, and implementation of complex software solutions that support our CABPT processing capabilities. The person should be well versed with AI coding tools & Agentic AI and has a positive inclination to utilize AI to increase productivity. What you have Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for modernization. Enthusiasm to learn and utilize AI for improving your productivity. Familiarity with building interfaces between Legacy and modern distributed applications Be able to contribute to solutioning, Design and implementation of modernization strategies for legacy applications, including mainframe migration and refactoring, mainframe callouts to Distributed platforms. Evaluate existing legacy systems and propose solutions for improving performance, scalability, and maintainability. Develop and maintain automated processes for legacy application, ensuring consistency and efficiency. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to legacy application modernization. Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, platform teams, Architects and other domain teams. Ability to act as a mentor for the technical team, providing guidance, support, and knowledge sharing to other developers looking to augment their skillsets with Mainframe and Distributed Technologies. Strong commitment to adhering to project timelines and delivering high-quality results within specified deadlines. Understanding of the importance of timely completion of tasks and projects, with a proactive approach to addressing any obstacles or challenges that may arise. Required qualifications: BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Strong experience with high-volume transactions processing, brokerage experience. 10+ years of experience in mainframe technologies- COBOL, JCL, DB2, Datacom, SQL, SQL Stored Procedures, Messaging Queues (IBM MQ, Kafka), CICS, Easytrieve, REXX and SORT utilities. 10+ years of experience as a software developer, with at least 3+ years in a lead/co-lead role. 3-4 years in tools such as Control-M, ChangeMan, FileAid, Startool, STARBAT, Xpeditor, TOAD, and SPUFI. Proven track record of participating in the architecture solution, Design & Development of complex, enterprise-level software systems. Demonstrated experience utilizing AI & AI agents to increase productivity. Good knowledge and hands-on experience in Financial Industry - specifically with Brokerage Business and transactions processing/Balances/Positions - Books & Records systems. Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, design principles and scalability considerations. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally. Experience in mentoring software development teams including geographically distributed teams/timings Good experience with legacy applications modernization. Preferred exposure to Distributed & Cloud technologies (e.g., GCP, Java, Javascript, .NET, C#, Springboot, MongoDB, Cloud, Postgres, etc.) and AI tools (GHCP, other AI tools). Preferred qualifications: Some experience and familiarity with file transmissions, Cloud, SPOS, Callouts from Mainframe to Distributed services, Security Tokens and authentication mechanisms. Strong preference to high-volume brokerage transactions processing and posting - batch & real-time.
