The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is $200,000- 275,000 and provides relocation support. Relocation may be available.

About the Role

Join The Claremont Colleges Services Student Health Services, where we are dedicated to prioritizing student well-being and delivering exemplary outpatient primary medical care. In the critical position of Director of Student Health Services, you will oversee and collaborate with the Assistant Director to ensure that providers deliver high-quality, effective, inclusive, and cost-effective clinical care in accordance with state regulations. Additionally, you will supervise and collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Supervisor (Registered Nurse) to establish clinical priorities and expedite project completion. Your responsibilities will encompass the evaluation, diagnosis, and recommendation of treatments for acute and chronic medical conditions, including the performance of minor surgical procedures when necessary.

Offering a comprehensive range of sexual and reproductive health services, such as gender affirming hormone therapy, genital affirming hormone therapy, genital examinations for acute, chronic, and preventive care needs (e.g. cervical and breast cancer screening, contraceptive methods, pregnancy testing, andSTIevaluation and management), you will play a key role in enhancing the overall health experience for our students. Additionally, your leadership will inspire our clinical staff to provide exceptional care, while your educational initiatives will empower students with knowledge about illnesses and preventive health care.

If you are a healthcare professional with a background as a physician (MD/DO), nurse practitioner, or physician assistant-and have experience or interest in working within a student-centered environment-this role offers the opportunity to support and guide a well-established clinical team serving a diverse student population across seven distinct colleges in Southern California.

How you will be spending your time:

Administrative Leadership

Serve as lead campus public health contact

• Oversee policy development, compliance, and quality assurance

• Collaborate across departments and institutions on student wellness

• Supervise clinical resource management and electronic medical records (Point and Click)

• Engage in campus strategic planning, budgetary oversight, and personnel decisions

• Represent Student Health Services in interdepartmental and external meetings

Clinical Supervision

• Supervise the Assistant Director, Clinical Nurse Supervisor, Health Education Outreach Coordinator, and Registered Dietitian

• Lead staff meetings, clinical training, and performance evaluations

• Guide clinical priorities, including lab and referral resources

• Ensure effective integration of medical and mental health services

• Collaborate with outside partners, including radiology and external providers

Clinical Care

• Provide direct outpatient care one day per week

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage treatment for acute and chronic conditions

• Perform minor office procedures (e.g., suturing, wart removal, foreign body extraction)

• Offer comprehensive reproductive and sexual health services, including gender-affirming care

• Coordinate referrals and follow-up care

• Serve as after-hours contact for critical lab results

The experience you will bring:

• Successful completion of Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program (Adult or Family).

• Minimum 5 years post residency in a primary care specialty (i.e. Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine)

• Proven knowledge in medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

• Demonstrated ability to manage the fluctuation of clinical caseload and maintain appropriate records in a timely manner.

• Ability to work as a team member within the health center and throughout the consortium.

• Ability to work with an electronic health records system for client notes and scheduling.

• California License to serve as a medical provider

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or the ability to obtain such certification within a reasonable time after starting in the position.

• Continuing medical education classes as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a higher education environment and/or with college-aged individuals.

• Experience working with an electronic medical records system.

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school is preferred.

• Administrative experience, including supervision of medical staff, is preferred.
