This position is located at Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.

Essential Functions
  • Participate in conditioning, acceptance and quality testing of all DII links, trunks and circuits transiting the U.S. Army Kwajalein Atoll.
  • Perform patching, testing, and frequency changing, troubleshooting, and restoration of all communications circuits interfacing the TCF.
  • Verify quality of communications circuits, channels, and equipment by use of appropriate test equipment.
  • Apply established procedures using voice or data orderwires, in conjunction with local and distant facilities, to effect necessary operational adjustments.
  • Perform HF frequency changes.
  • Coordinate satellite links and line terminal operation as outlined in DCAC 310-70-1.
  • Coordinate with local user agencies in matters related to circuit performance, capabilities and utilization.
  • Perform special operational performance test and evaluation on new equipment, circuits or frequencies.
  • Perform scheduled and demand maintenance and testing on all TCF equipment and circuits.
  • Use test equipment, such as transmission impairment measuring set, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, T-Berd 8000, T-Berd 4000, HST-3000, Fireberd 6000 Communications Analyzer, T-berd 224 PCM Analyzer, T-berd 310 Communications Analyzer, frequency counter, oscillators and other transmission impairment test equipment to detect and isolate equipment faults/circuit degradation and in performing restoral.
  • Use schematic diagrams, manufacturers service manual, and other documentation in determining equipment fault/circuit degradation and in performing repair/restoral.
  • Operate Base Radio function IAW procedure outlined in ACP 113, 124, 125 and 147.
  • Monitor and transmits as required on all international distress frequencies assigned to Kwajalein Atoll.
Required Skills
  • Basic PC operation.
  • Ability to patch, test, perform frequency changes, troubleshoot and restore communications circuits.
  • Proficient skills with test equipment, such as, but not limited to, transmission impairment measuring set, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, T-Berd 8000, T-Berd 4000, HST-3000, Fireberd 6000 Communications Analyzer, T-berd 224 PCM Analyzer, T-berd 310 Communications Analyzer, frequency counters, oscillators.
  • Proficient ability to read schematic diagrams, manufacturers service manuals, and other documentation to determine equipment fault or circuit degradation and to perform repair and restoration procedures
Required Experience
  • Associates degree in electronics or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years' experience in communications with at least one year experience in Technical Control or commercial equivalent fixed station operations and maintenance.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required.
