Position Description:

The University of Iowa, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine is recruiting a BC/BE non-invasive cardiologist for a faculty position at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the clinical (non-tenure) or tenure track, depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will join a large academic group. Patient care will occur at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, affiliated outreach sites and the affiliated Iowa City VA Medical Center. This position is not eligible for university sponsorship for employment authorization.

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.



Education Requirement:

Candidates must have an M.D. degree or equivalent.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must show completion of an ACGME accredited residency and fellowship program.Additionally, candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy interactions with students, staff, and faculty.

Certifications:

Candidates must have a board certification in cardiology.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in advanced ECHO and Transthoracic Echocardiography along with cardiac MRI and/or CT is preferred. Evidence of a commitment to clinical teaching, clinical research and/or outcomes research is desired.
