Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is currently seeking a part-time Educator for our Psychiatry/Addiction Medicine Unit. The Educator functions as a consultant and resource for education, role development, building collaborative partnerships, research through evidence-based practice/quality improvement, and orientation/onboarding of new hires and competency management. The unit offers voluntary, short-term inpatient treatment for adults 18 years of age and older. We assist our patients in completing medical detoxification and withdrawal from alcohol, sedatives, and opiates. We also provide comprehensive medical and psychiatric care. We treat the entire range of psychiatric illnesses and provide a safe and supportive environment in which to recover. Treatment modalities include group therapy, occupational therapy, spiritual care, yoga and movement therapy, music and art therapy, case management and discharge planning. Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital inpatient unit for psychiatry and addiction medicine is one of several treatment programs operated by Cottage Health. Other services offered at our acute and sub-acute care facilities located in Santa Barbara include residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation and intensive outpatient programming. We have a high performing clinical team that has earned the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence award three consecutive years for outstanding patient satisfaction, and we have one of the highest employee satisfaction levels in the organization.
