Job Description

The Department of Art and Design at the University of Missouri-St. Louis seeks a motivated individual to join our team in the role of Research Lab Technician Sr. (RLTS).

This position is responsible for all technology (analog and digital) related safety and maintenance practices, and student/faculty assistance related to art and design technologies in, the classroom studios, including printmaking, ceramics/sculpture, and output labs.

The RLTS takes direction from and reports to the Department Chair of Art and Design, and is expected to seek out, in consultation with faculty, best practices and new technologies related to art & design content delivery.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor applicants for this position for employment visas.

Shift

30 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

BFA degree or equivalent and at least three-years' experience with studio art lab equipment (including printing presses, kilns, basic hand tools), machine-and computer-based technology needed to maintain health and safety and to support educational artistic practice. Experience with higher education art studios.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $20.00 to $21.00 per hour
